Revision constantly strives to better understand the use of Revision's services and to serve our users better. Data collection participants via the Revision app

If you use Revision as a participant, Revision may collect data about the use of the app. For example, Revision could measure whether succeeds to open the evaluation, information about the calibration process, how and whether the participant grants the various access rights.

When the participant starts the actual evaluation, Revision collects information about how the participant handles the content of the evaluation. Depending on the device of the participant or the metrics the evaluation owner want to measure, the app will collect information regarding:

This information is only collected during the evaluation, which is only started after the participant has explicitly granted the necessary permissions. Eye tracking data is stored locally and no video, photo, data from the TrueDepth API or other biometric data of the face of the participant is stored or sent. Only if the participant enters personal data during the evaluation will this information be stored in the screen recording.


We take security measures to limit misuse and unauthorized access to personal information. In particular, we take the following measures:

Data retention

The personal data described above will be kept for as long as necessary. After you delete your account, we keep data for a maximum of one year for statistical purposes. The data will then be deleted, unless there is a legal obligation to retain for a longer period (such as the tax retention obligation of seven years for payment details).

Diagnostic information from the app

The app sends anonymized information about its operation. This information contains non-personal data of your smartphone such as the type and operating system, but also the version of the app. This data is only used to improve Revision's service or to answer your questions more quickly. This information is never provided to third parties.
